New Course
Descriptions: Tweens/Teens Talk &
Rock--"Formulas For Success" For ages 11 to 15--Social
understanding, social thinking, and the ability to recognize and
honor others' perspectives provide the key ingredients for social
success. Participants develop skills and motivation to combine
these ingredients to make good impressions on others and to
establish positive repuations as they think about others, think
about what others think of them, respect authority, and respect
themselves.
Teens Talk & Rock--"Cracking
Current Communication Codes" For ages 14 to
19--Reports indicate that only seven percent of the emotional
meaning in language is actually expressed with words. Through
instruction, demonstrations, and extensive practice, participants
develop, increase, and expand their ability to navigate the world of
body language, non-verbal cues, facial expression and other forms of
non-verbal communication.

The chameleon metaphor has recently been adopted by WMLC to
promote the ultimate goal of connecting individuals with ASD with
social skills that enable them to adapt and partcipate successfully
in today's ever-changing society. "We are like chameleons,
we take our hue and the color of our moral character, from those who
are around us."--John Locke
