Hello Friends of WMLC,

We hope your fall season has been wonderful and that you will have much to be thankful for on Thanksgiving Day!  Our fall social skills group sessions have ended.

Winter social skills groups will start on January 9.  Debra’s suggestions will be on Fall Progress Reviews.  Optional intake conferences will be offered:

                              Dec. 5 – Dec. 8             10:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.

                              Dec. 12 – Dec. 15          10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

                              Jan. 3 – Jan. 6               10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

A Sleepover will be offered on Dec. 10.

We shall continue to offer Friday Excellent Adventures between sessions and we also have a new selection of Nifty Night Camps and Super Saturday Day Camps that will take place during November and December.  The main goals for these therapeutic recreational activities are to allow clients to:

*         Increase the quality of social interactions and interpersonal relationships

*         Increase self-related skills

*         Increase community- and group-related social skills

In case you missed it in June, Debra will be offering her Teaching Social Communication & Interaction Skills Presentation again on Friday, Dec.9, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at WMLC.  The description and registration form may be viewed by opening the attached PDF file. 

Arc Hennepin-Carver’s Sibshops got off to a great start on Nov. 12.  Ages 5 - 8 meet from 10:00 – 12:00 and ages 9 -12 meet from 1:00 - 3:00 on select Saturdays at WMLC.  These groups are facilitated by Biz Williams.
